Mission

The Youth and Family Engagement Committee works to create meaningful relationships among temple families and to help those families feel connected to each other and to Woodlands as a whole. These connections encourage a sense of belonging within our Jewish community and generate a warm, welcoming environment within the temple.

Parent Coffee and Schmooze with YFEC 
Oct 1, 10:15 am (During 3rd-7th grade Kesher);
Oct 14, 10:15 am (After the How to Torah Study program with Rabbi Mara)
We want to hear your thoughts and ideas! Come grab coffee and a bagel and take a moment to let us know what
family programs and activities you would like to see at WCT. Whether it’s just saying hello, offering a few suggestions,
or volunteering to join the committee, please stop by so we can meet you and get to know a bit about you and your
family.

WCT Hike
Oct 22, Harriman State Park, 2:00 pm 
Do you love getting out into nature? If so, we hope you will join us for a family-friendly local hike. Our hike will take place in Harriman State Park on part of the Long Path. The hike is an in and out hike and is under 2 miles roundtrip. The summit offers a beautiful vista of Turkey Pond Lake, Bear Mountain, and West Point. This will be the perfect time to connect with other WCT families while getting some fresh air and enjoying amazing views of the Hudson Valley in autumn! WCT Nights Out
Nov 4, Hudson Social, 11 Station Plaza, Dobbs Ferry, 7:30–9:30 pm
These popular adults-only events are a great place for WCT members and their not-yet-WCT friends to connect,
schmooze, and enjoy a few hours of nightlife!  We hope you will join us for complimentary light appetizers and
great company at some of our favorite local restaurants and at WCT. Click here to sign up.
Future dates:  Jan 20 will take place at the temple and will be a wine and cheese event.

PJ Library Family Havdalah Program
Feb 3, 4:30–6:00 pm
WCT families with young children (ages 0-7) are invited to join us for a family Havdalah celebration. We will say
goodbye to Shabbat with songs, crafts, stories, and games while we learn about the components of a Havdalah
service through community-building activities.

Family Trivia
Mar 2, 3:00–4:30 pm
Bring your knowledge of random facts and a friendly, competitive spirit to WCT for an exciting afternoon of trivia!
Members ages 7 to 107 are invited to show off their trivia skills while connecting with other WCT families. Are you
up to the challenge?
