Our Mission
Woodlands Community Temple is a Reform Jewish congregation nestled in the woods of Greenburgh, New York (near White Plains, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Edgemont, Hastings, Irvington, and Tarrytown).
We are a vibrant, warm, welcoming, diverse and egalitarian community committed to creating a dynamic, innovative environment for all who wish to participate in Jewish life and ritual.
We believe that:
-
an understanding of and an appreciation for differences – age, color, disability, sex, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression – lead to healthy and inclusive communities.
-
by respecting all people and hearing all voices – by celebrating our shared humanity – we make better decisions for ourselves and for the communities we serve.
We take a progressive approach to Jewish life, integrating a deep respect for traditional Judaism with the insights of contemporary living.
