Megillah Chanting Classes
The Talmud teaches that it is a mitzvah to hear the megillah chanted on Purim. At WCT this year, we'll say that it is a mitzvah to chant a verse from the megillah at our congregational Purim celebration!
Have you ever been interested in learning how to chant Megillat Esther (the words of the Purim story)? Now is your chance to learn! Sign up for the Megillah Chanting Class and learn your way around the cantillation of the story of Esther. Each person signed up for this class will work toward chanting one verse of the megillah during the WCT Purim celebration on Thurs, Mar 13. You do not need to consider yourself a singer to be part of this class. No previous cantillation knowledge is necessary. We ask that you commit to as many class dates as possible (Jan 15 and Feb 5 are required).
This class is open to anyone post-B-Mitzvah age and will be in person only.
