Woodlands Community Temple feels strongly that no one be excluded from membership because of an inability to pay. Please contact the Financial Secretary (financialsecretary@wct.org) to discuss any financial needs and arrangements that will make membership possible for your household. All financial arrangements are made and kept in strictest confidence.

 

Membership Opportunities

 

Gateway

For households with all children in 2nd grade or below.

Gateway members receive nearly all benefits of temple membership, including High Holy Day, holiday and Shabbat services, clergy support (pastoral care, lifecycle events), temple programs, family programs and access to the religious school. Payment must be paid in full upon registration or renewal. Gateway members are not “voting members” of the congregation, meaning they cannot vote on temple business or serve on the Board of Trustees.

 

Dual Gateway with the Shames JCC on the Hudson

For households with all children in 2nd grade or below.

This category gives a member Gateway status at WCT as well as a Basic Membership at the Shames JCC on the Hudson.

 

Junior Membership

For households with all adults under the age of 35 with no children.

Junior members receive all the benefits of temple membership, including High Holy Day, holiday and Shabbat services, clergy support (pastoral care, lifecycle events) and programs. Junior members are full voting members of the congregation and can serve on the Board of Trustees. Junior members are required to pay into the Building Maintenance Fund (see below).

 

Household Membership

Household members receive all the benefits of temple membership, including High Holy Day, holiday and Shabbat services, clergy support (pastoral care, lifecycle events) and temple programs. Household members are considered full voting members of the congregation, they can vote on temple business and can serve on the Board of Trustees. Household members are required to pay into the Building Maintenance Fund for the first 5 years of membership (see below).

 

Friends of Woodlands

Members who have been with us for more than 20 years, and have moved out of the local area can remain connected as Friends of Woodlands. Friends of Woodlands receive all the benefits of temple membership, including High Holy Day, holiday and Shabbat services, clergy support (pastoral care, lifecycle events) and temple programs, except that Friends of Woodlands cannot vote on temple business nor serve on the Board of Trustees.

 

Building Fund

The Building Fund covers short and long-term building maintenance expenditures. New members are asked to pay into the Building Fund for the first 5 years of their membership.
