Online Scams: What Kind of Job is That For a Nice Jewish Boy?

with Rabbi Billy

Seems everyone wants to make a quick buck on the internet these days. But are WE involved in perpetrating these crimes too? And what's Judaism got to say about that? Woodlands Webinars: Online Learning with your clergy! Each month, we'll meet either for a lunch break (12:30-1:30 pm) or dessert (8:00-9:00 pm). Grab a nosh and get in front of a computer (with a webcam preferred). We'll meet in real time and discuss lively topics. Register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Now more than ever ... being Jewish Together

With the pandemic raging, the election looming, and the weather turning dreary, it's more important than ever that we celebrate the beauty and light in our midst. Woodlands has been that light for us and we know it has been for many of you as well. Now more than ever, being Jewish together is a lifeline, a gift of purpose and meaning in an otherwise chaotic world. We may be physically apart, but Woodlands has never been closer together.

So many of you have reflected to us that the High Holy Days this year moved you in unexpected and meaningful ways. We thought it would be nice to celebrate our exuberant beginning to the year. Click below to see a "highlight reel," from the High Holy Days. It celebrates the hard work of the clergy, the Woodlands Singers, the Jewish Life Committee and our tech crew with songs, snapshots and some behind the scenes footage.  Enjoy!

A Q&A with Cantor Lance Rhodes
and Mike Winkleman

Shortly after Cantor Lance arrived at his new home in Shrub Oak, Mike Winkleman caught up with him to see how his move had gone and what he’s thinking and planning now that he is assuming the role of Woodlands’ new cantor. Here are some excerpts from their conversation.
