Get Involved
When new members join Woodlands, the rabbi usually tells them to wait six months before getting involved with the myriad committees and other activities the temple sponsors. For many members, it doesn't take nearly that long. Following is a list of committees, with information about what they do and who chairs them. Don't hesitate to contact committee chairs directly if you're interested in getting involved. For information on the activities of several of these committees, such as Social Action, check out other pages on the website.
Every two years, Woodlands runs a leadership training program called Derekh for temple members interested in getting further involved in temple leadership. The program, led by Rabbi Billy Dreskin and Dale Glasser, a temple member and the Union for Reform Judaism's lead specialist for the Congregational Consulting Group, meets once a month for eight months and covers a wide range of temple leadership and management issues.
